We build programs that help people stand tall.

At Meher, we believe every person carries an inner light — a source of strength, dignity, and potential. Our programs are designed to awaken that light through care, community, and purpose.

Whether it's Afghan women forging new paths, young girls reclaiming their confidence, autistic children embracing independence, youth designing solutions for their communities, or emerging leaders navigating the age of AI — our work centers on one core idea:

Empower the individual, strengthen the whole.

Through thoughtful, grassroots initiatives, we support journeys toward self-reliance — journeys that ripple outward, transforming families, communities, and futures.

Empowering Afghan Women Through Self-Reliance

Project Noor is grounded in the belief that Afghan women are not defined by circumstance, but by resilience, wisdom, and unrealized opportunity. The program creates space for women to reconnect with their strengths, build meaningful community, and access pathways to long-term self-reliance — on their own terms.

“Noor,” meaning light, speaks to the inner clarity and leadership these women already possess. Through trust, collaboration, and culturally responsive support, Project Noor walks with, not ahead of, the women it serves — amplifying voices that too often go unheard, and investing in futures shaped by confidence and self-determination.

Redefining Confidence and Beauty in Young Girls

Crowned with Kindness is a transformative initiative focused on nurturing self-worth and body positivity in young girls. By cultivating a sense of inner dignity, intergenerational support, and kindness toward oneself and others, the program helps girls grow into strong, confident individuals who lift others as they rise. It is a gentle but powerful call to wear confidence like a crown — shaped by compassion, not comparison.

A Path to Self-Reliance for Autistic Children

Named after the starry goddess of strength and insight, Project Asteria offers children on the autism spectrum a nurturing space to develop practical independence, emotional resilience, and peer connections. Grounded in Meher’s self-reliance framework, the program celebrates each child's unique light and helps families and communities recognize and support that brilliance.

Designing Solutions That Matter

Suluhu Lab is Meher’s creative space for youth and communities to engage in human-centered design for real-world challenges. Rooted in collaboration, empathy, and innovation, the lab empowers participants to think critically, build solutions with purpose, and co-create change that’s sustainable and locally grounded. The word “suluhu” means solution — and that’s what this lab is all about.
